Today we had a working bee on site to clear vegetation and prepare the grounds for Mills Albert to arrive and begin site scraping. Thanks team!

Today, Mills Albert arrive on site to start silt fencing, building temporary pathways and other site preparations. Next week, Homestead Construction will fence the site and earthworks will get underway, taking 3-4 weeks.

We’re grateful to Paekākāriki based archaeologist Andy Dodd (Subsurface) who will be on site to monitor things, alongside representatives from Ngāti Toa Rangatira and Ngāti Haumia ki Paekākāriki.

Exclusion Zone

Greater Wellington will be closing the track between the site and the beach. Park users are encouraged to use the southern beach track, at the end of Aperahama Street.
