For anyone who has been down to the club over the last few weeks, you would have seen some big changes underway. Stage one of the project is running to schedule, with the mid floor ribs ready for construction of the top story, and the site being backfilled. If you do head down to the club, please be careful around the mound behind the containers as the backfill occurs.
All going to plan stage one will see the building closed-in early in the new year. We will be looking ahead to future stages of the project, including the order for fitting out the spaces in the building and how they can work alongside our fundraising. We’ll hope to give future updates on this in upcoming newsletters.
Greater Wellington wants to get some planting done on the dunes around the build site to help keep them stable, and are also looking at cutting down some trees around the site. The plan is to get this done on the afternoon of Saturday 31 August. The Club is keen to help get this done by organising a working bee.
Kids are very welcome to come along to help with the planting. If you want to help with chainsawing you’ll need your safety ticket to meet health and safety requirements.
If you’d like to help with the working bee, please let Henry know asap on 0275388999.
