2025/26 Memberships and Fees
Club fees – subscription fees – are set each season by the Management Committee.

Active Members (Lifeguards, Athletes, Coaches etc)
This applies to anyone participating or involved in Surf Life Saving through the club.
$30 – please note a TEC fee may also be applicable, please see below.
Active members are included in a family membership if aged 22 or under at 30 September.
Nippers (Junior Surf)
$100 first the first Nipper and $75 for each subsequent Nipper in the same family.
Included in a family membership.
For any Nippers U11 or older, there is an Equipment Fee ($30) to cover equipment repair – see below for more details.
Entries covered by Nippers subscriptions:
– Capital Coast Events, excluding pool rescue events
– Central Region Championship, excluding any pool rescue events
Nipper Equipment Fee $30
Nippers in the U11-U14 age group will need to pay an Equipment Fee to cover accidental damage to boards over the season.
The equipment fee will apply to each U11+ nipper using club boards (it will not apply to nippers who only use their own boards).
Little Nippers (5 and 6 year olds at 30 Sept 25)
Included in a family membership. Otherwise $50 per child.
Associate Member
$60 – non-competing, non-lifeguarding members. Members who have have an interest in the club socially or in supporting fundraising efforts.
Family Subscription: $175
Applies to parents and all of their children, aged 22 years and under as at 30 September.
Training, Equipment and Competition (TEC) Fee: $250
The Training, Equipment and Competition (TEC) Fee applies to all club members aged 14 years and above, training and competing in any surf sports for Paekakariki SL. It applies to those competing for Paekakariki SL at any competition including local and national competitions and Surf Boats and IRBs. Age as at 30 September.
The fee is to assist in costs associated with surf sports, such as: training, equipment repair, trailer maintenance, fuel and competition entry costs. Payment of the TEC fee is expected to be made at the start of the season along with annual subscription fees but payment plans are available. Failure to pay the TEC fee will result in training and competition privileges being withheld.
The TEC Fee will cover the following events. Any other event entries will need to be paid for by the athlete:
- Capital Coast events, including Whitehorse, IRB, Surf Boats, excluding pool rescue events
- SLSNZ National Championship, excluding pool rescue events
- Regional Championships, excluding pool rescue events
- SLSNZ IRB events, including North Island and South Island champs
- SLSNZ Surf Boat events which are part of the national surf boat challenge
- Whangamata Classic
