Hi everyone,

I am writing this from France after being part of a fantastic Olympics and managing to catch up with a bunch of our clubbies while here. I must give a huge congratulations to Kurtis Imrie who was waving the NZ flag at the games and performing amazing well. To see their K4 make the A Final and performing well in the K2 B final was awesome given men’s paddling globally is so fast, well done Kurtis!

In the past few months the club has been so busy with the upcoming season, new committee and the new build happening. Thanks to everyone for the work they are doing. I would like to give a special thanks to Hayley for arranging the Respect the Rip event which was a great initiative for the club.

The new build is progressing very well with Homestead racing along with the build under the watchful eye of Tristian,Henry & the Construction Committee.  We now need to focus on the remaining fundraising which we need a huge effort from every club member. Can you all please help the fundraising committee to achieve our goals and get the building finished – We need your help!

A great example of this was Sarah and Mia doing a fundraising swim for the club -they managed to raise over $1000 for the build – how great is that!  I challenge every member of the club to find a way to do the same in your own way … just let the fundraising team know so they are aware and can help if possible.

Enjoy the winter training and set up for the season everyone,

See you all at the beach!
