Build Update Feb

With all this work being completed, the construction sub-committee aims to complete a handover with Homestead in early March. Following that, the temporary fencing will come down from around the site, the public toilets will be commissioned, and stage one of the build will officially have been completed!!!

We are massively appreciative to all the people who have come along to the working bees to keep the site tidy and looking good. We still need a bit more assistance to complete stage one. To fulfil the conditions of the resource consent over the public toilets, the area inside the farm fencing will need to be planted. Some additional planting will need to take place around the public toilets and the southern end of the building to make these safe for the public once the fences come down. We will be catching up with Greater Wellington Regional Council about this, but please watch this space.

With stage one reaching completion, the construction sub-committee is focusing on planning all that we can to enable the project to keep moving ahead, and to get out of the containers at the end of the season. This includes working with the crafties, boaties and lifeguarding teams to prepare storage solutions for the sheds. We are also working on developing cost estimates for each of the remaining stages of the build, to help with the club’s fundraising efforts.
