Paekākāriki Surf Lifeguards Inc. are a registered charity in New Zealand and are run by a Management Committee and several sub-committees.
President
Nat Perkins
Nat has been a part of the club for many years as a lifeguard, nipper parent, and more recently as a long serving official. Nat’s close relationship with the Paekākāriki community is an asset to our club.

Former Mayor of Kāpiti and friend to the club and Paekākāriki community for many years.
Management Committee Members 2025/26
Chairperson – Matt Warren
Matt joined the club and became a lifeguard in 1985.
Finance Officer – Sandra Bednarek
Sandra joined Paekākāriki when her two daughters got involved in Nippers. Sandra coached and managed Junior Surf for many years.
Building Officer – Peter (PJ) Jones
Lifeguarding Manager – Ally Jones
Member Education Coordinator – Caylee Cooke
Membership and Wellbeing Coordinator – Chris Eastham
Senior Sport Coordinator – Dave Jones
Dave joined the club in 1983 and has competed for over 40 years. He is our Head Coach for Senior Craft athletes.
Junior Surf Coordinator and Construction Committee Chair – Henry Curtis
Henry joined the club along with his three children. He leads the coordination of our Nipper (Junior surf) programme. He qualified as a lifeguard in 2023.
Henry is one of our Member Protection Leads.
Youth Captain – Mickey Jones
Mickey is an active athlete, patrol captain and lifeguard in the club. She is the committee’s connection to our youth membership.
Boat Captain – Hayley Goertzen

Funding Applications and Fundraising – Emma Norris
Emma joined Paekākāriki in 2012, when her three children started Nippers. Emma joined the Committee in 2017, as the funding and sponsorship Coordinator. In 2023 she qualified as a lifeguard.
