We patrol Paekākāriki Beach from Queen Elizabeth Park each summer. You'll most likely see our flags set up not far along from the end of The Parade.

Our volunteer patrol hours are Saturday and Sunday 12pm-5pm from October until the end of February.

Surf Life Saving NZ operate a regional lifeguard service during the peak summer period, covering Christmas and New Years. During this time there are also lifeguards on the beach during week days.

Please swim at lifeguarded beaches, between the flags. The Safeswim website and app is the place to go for live information on beaches and rivers across Aotearoa, including lifeguard patrol times, hazards, water conditions tides and more. 

If an emergency situation arises when no lifeguards are present, dial 111 and ask for Police
