Registrations are now open for the 2026-27 season - we're looking forward to another busy season lifeguarding, training, competing and having fun! Our club Code of Conduct applies to all members.
When to register and pay
- Register and pay by 1 October 2026 through Friendly Manager.
- Competing before 1 October? You'll need to pay when you enter the competition.
- Important: Except for Social Members, all members must join Surf Life Saving NZ.
Membership Options
Active Members - $40
Who this is for: Anyone taking part in Surf Life Saving activities through the club - lifeguards, athletes, coaches, and more.
Extra costs: You may also need to pay the TEC fee (see below).
Family membership: If you're 22 or under on 30 September 2026, you can be included in a family membership.
Nippers (Junior Surf) - $110 per child
Also included in a family membership.
Equipment Fee: $30 extra for Nippers aged U11 and older (see below for details)
What's included:
- Entry to Capital Coast events (carnivals) - except pool rescue events
- You pay separately for Central Region events, National events (like Oceans), and pool rescue events
Nipper Equipment Fee - $30
Who pays this: Nippers aged U11 to U14 who use club boards. Nippers who use their own boards do not need to pay.
What it covers: Accidental damage to boards during the season
Little Nippers - $50 per child
Also included in family membership
Who this is for: 5 and 6 year olds (as at 30 September 2026)
Social Member - $60
Who this is for: People who want to support the club socially or help with fundraising, but won't be competing or lifeguarding.
Good to know:
- Social Members can't vote but do get member rates at the bar
Family Membership - $250
Who this is for: Parents and all their children aged 22 or under (as at 30 September 2026)
Training, Equipment and Competition (TEC) Fee - $275
Who this is for: All club members aged 14+ (as at 30 September 2026) who are training or competing in surf sports for Paekākāriki Surf Lifeguards.
This includes anyone competing at local or national competitions, and in Surf Boats and IRBs.
What does it cover?
- Training costs
- Equipment repairs
- Trailer maintenance
- Fuel
Competition entry fees for these events:
- Capital Coast events (Whitehorse, IRB, Surf Boats) - except pool rescue
- SLSNZ National Championships - except pool rescue
- Regional Championships - except pool rescue
- SLSNZ IRB events (North Island and South Island champs)
- SLSNZ Surf Boat events (national surf boat challenge)
- Whangamata Classic
Other events? You'll need to pay entry fees separately.
You'll need to pay at the start of the season with your membership fee. Payment plans are available. If you don't pay the TEC fee, you won't be able to train or compete.
