Hi there
It was great to catch up with some of you yesterday and meet
those new to the club. We hope the kids had some fun on the
beach or in the water and on the IRB. Thanks to Lynnie and
her great crew who organised all that
A reminder that this Thursday is our first pool
session for the year, 7 pm at the new Coastlands Aquatic
Centre (not Raumati Pool as I may have told you, old habits….).
This is open to all Nippers, it will be especially good for
those who need to sit their 200 m badge, i.e. those nippers over 10
wanting to take bigger boards out into the water. All our
younger nippers can also sit the badge, this gives them quite a
thrill if they make it or if they get close then the know what they
have to do going forward. Please be patient at the
pool on Thursday, the first session is always a bit hectic
especially for those wanting to sit the badge. Parents can
help by timing individual kids, it would be get if you bring a
stopwatch or use your watch/phone for this.
Bridge training continues for those 10 yrs and over on Tuesdays
at 5:30, with the nicer weather we may get more kids coming
along which is great but it may mean they have to share equipment
(everyone does that at some stage at the surf club).
Congrats to some of our older nippers, Nic Cecioni and Thomas
Downs who survived their weekend at the surf club as part of their
lifeguard training, they get to sit their lifeguard award once they
turn 14.
Nippers start proper this Sunday, please
assemble 1:45pm upstairs in the club, Nippers
please come and tick yourself off our membership list. We can
still take payments for subs and all going well the uniform orders
will be there also on Sunday to pick up.
Every kid on the beach must wear a Nipper hat (beanie), these
are $20.
If you are new please ensure you have filled in your
registration online at http://pam.surflifesaving.org.nz/registration.aspx
See you Sunday
Regards
