Hi there folks
Just a quick email to bring you up to speed with what has been
happening with our clubbies:
CRC:
We had IRB's on the Saturday and Surf carnival on the Sunday
held at NPOB at the Naki. Saturday had 2 -2.5m swell and the
weather was hot, sunny and a little sea breeze. . We had
Paekak represented in the prem's and open IRB's. Three rounds
- assembly, single and 3 persons. Paekak crews were
Ritchie/Ben (Prems), Blair/Azza/Elyse (Senior), Tyler/Dwightee/Amy
(Senior), Flynno/Harvey/Netta (Prems) with special
apprearances of young Sam Pugh and Blair Kennelly.
Between the crews they accrued first and 10th placing in the
Senior catgegory and 2nd and 4th placing in the Prem's
category. A couple of broken toes, birthday to celebrate,
farewell to remember - the Paekak IRB crews had a great
weekend.
Sunday was overcast and very warm. The surf had dropped
to 1m - 1.5m. We took 17 athletes and many whanau
travelled with us. One day carnival and we were on the
beach bright and early. All of our athletes competed
well with a few things to tidy up before the
nationals.

Chocolate fish goes to:
- Tomo and Tayla swimming five races
back to back.
- Tyler breaking his toe and still ran
some distance for his IRB race to get a placing
- Baxter - not wanting to compete in
flags and then coming 4th overall in his age group
- Baxter - not wanting to swim - swam
the surf race and came in with an escort, received high five from
the boys, ovation from the officials
and geared up for the taplin.
Well done Baxter!!!
Huge thanks to our awesome officials from Paekak for both
Saturday and Sunday. Thank you guys. Also big thanks to
Lynnie and James organising the accomodation. Thank you to Jo
for managing the girls on the Sunday.
Great weekend was had by all.
Whangamata (ERC) - last weekend of Jan. We are taking
away with us 29 athletes. A two day event which will be busy
and long. Could I please have an indication of who is taking
a vehicle and who needs a lift asap. I will touch base
shortly regarding what we will need to take.
Cheers and see you all at the beach.
