Hi guys
Another great day on the beach Sunday, some great photos are now
up on
facebook, thanks to Gareth Davies for the shots. This
Sunday, 17th Feb, is Capital Coast Champs day, it's
for Seniors and Juniors so will be a big one for which we need
loads of help. Some of our great helpers are at Kayak
Nationals, NZ Juniors Swimming and others are settling their older
kids into Varsity all over the country so we really need extra
hands. In addition to the normal Team Manager roles on the beach we
need to get food to Officials and run a BBQ, please, please get
back to me if you can help and you'll definitely get a job!
Of special note is that the carnival starts at 8:45 am so
we need you all there at 8:00 to organise kids and Team
Managers. 10-13 year olds need to bring fins for tube
rescues.
We also have our Commemoration Service on Monday
18th Feb at the Beach Road access to the beach (the
corner of the Parade and Beach Rd) at 6:30 pm. This marks the
100th Anniversary of the drowning of Walter Francis
Pengally which lead to the formation of our Surf Lifesaving Club,
it would be great if Nippers and families could attend this.
Thanks to those of you who bought raffle tickets for our Senior
guards going to Aussie Nationals, the quiz night was a great
success, more raffles will be sold this weekend.
Special good wishes goes out to our Nippers taking part in New
Zealand Junior Swimming Champs taking part this weekend at
Kilbirnie, these are:
-
· Charlotte
Meyer
- · Jack
Plummer
- · Joel
Crampton
- · Sean
Gatt
To qualify for these Championships is in itself a great
achievement so well done to these great swimmers and good luck!
Cheers, Sandra
