Extra Training Session for Nippers

Posted by Elyse Robert on Thursday, 20 September 2012

We are going to start extra Board training for Nippers aged 10 years and over.

These will take place at the Pauatahanui Inlet on Thursday evenings at 5:30, first session starts next week on September 27th.  We meet in the carpark on Mana Esplanade by Paremata Bridge (the carpark on the other side of the road from Burger Wisconsin).

The aim of this is to give our Nippers a chance to do some paddling in flat water, we have found this is  a great way to teach them correct technique.  Only Nippers 10 years and above and who have a 200m badge may attend.  (if new and not sure re 200 m badge please contact us to ascertain if suitable for your child).  As with all surf activities this is not compulsory but just a chance to help Nippers as they transition onto our Fibreglass boards.

If you are likely to attend please text Lynnie on  021 828 666.  Kids need to wear warm clothing, wetsuits and polyprops under wetsuits are best, wetsuit booties are also great. We will try to use as much day light as poss so please be there promptly, waterproof head torches are also a good idea.  Parents we need help with unpacking the trailer and sorting boards on arrival.

Special thanks to Lynnie, James and Rado who will make sure boards are packed on the trailer and that the trailer gets there!
